Destrucción y representación del paisaje: nuevas cartografías tras el sismo en Chile (2010)

Abstract

La destrucción es una acción que define el territorio y que es parte del proceso irreversible del cambio de nuestras ciudades y nuestros paisajes. Las catástrofes han determinado nuestra forma de construir el territorio, así como han retroalimentado un imaginario de la destrucción y con el tiempo una valoración de estos lugares. Es por ello que la representación de la destrucción sobre el paisaje adquiere un papel central, planteando una nueva forma de observación y comprensión de este fenómeno. A través de un análisis de distintas representaciones sobre diversas acciones sucedidas en el territorio, podremos identificar la forma en que estos paisajes han sido representados y las estrategias utilizadas. Asimismo, se plantea la generación de una cartografía sobre un paisaje devastado, como es el paisaje del litoral Pacífico en Chile afectado por el sismo del año 2010. Esto permitirá derivar a una síntesis del trabajo, pudiendo definir ideas y temáticas de interés.Destruction can define a territory and is part of the irreversible process of change that affects our cities and landscapes. All forms of disaster have helped to determine the way we shape our territories as well as leaving behind them a collective imagination of destruction and with time inspiring an aesthetic appreciation of these places. As a result, the representation of landscape destruction has come to play a major role, stimulating a new approach to observing and understanding this phenomenon. By analyzing various representations of different factors effecting landscapes, we will identify the way they have been represented as well as the strategies used. With this in mind, we suggest the creation of cartography of devastated landscapes, such as the Pacific coastline in Chile, which was affected by an earthquake in 2010. This will help to summaries the work required in order to define new related ideas and themes.Peer Reviewe
