异化翻译是一种尊重差异的翻译策略,而非主张盲目复制原作的策略。“异化“与“归化“作为翻译策略并无优劣高低之分。文章就英-汉翻译中的“异化“、“归化“策略进行探讨,认为:作为翻译策略,“异化“与“归化“两者各有短长,也各有存在的必要。过分强调“异化“或“归化“都有失偏颇。Foreignizing translation cannot be understood as copying the source text,but a translation strategy that respects difference.Both 'foreignization' and 'domestication' have their strong and weak points.This paper tries to explore foreignization and domestication used by many translators in Chinese-English translation,hoping to draw the conclusion that as a strategy in translation,neither foreignization nor domestication is superior to the other.They are mutually dependent rather than incompatible.Therefore,overemphasis on one is liable to lead to bias against the other
