南极绕极流（ACC）中斜压输送占主要部分，而相关锋面的斜压输送又构成了总斜压输送的主要部分，因此研究锋的形态特征及其变化对于了解ACC具有重要意义。由于南大洋的海域面积巨大，且天气条件恶劣，对锋面的认识在时间和空间上还极为有限。绝大多数对锋的研究都基于传统的温盐观测，主要集中在南半球夏季，空间分辨率不高，且主要分布在南极考察补给船的航线上，缺少全面连续的观测。南印度洋又是南大洋中了解较少的海区，而中国的南大洋调查主要在东南印度洋开展，因此本文选取东南印度洋70°～150°E之间的锋作为研究对象。东南印度洋的锋大多伴有强斜压地转流。本文抓住这一特征，从强流这个角度来研究和识别锋，阐述了各锋的锋面...Baroclinic component is the dominant part of Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC), and baroclinic transportation associated with fronts makes up the majority part of the total baroclinic transportation of ACC.
