STM Study of Mg Growth on Si(111)-7×7 Surface

Abstract

超高真空(UHV)分子束外延(MBE)及扫描探针显微镜(SPM)技术作为薄膜生长和表征的重要工具,已在很多研究领域取得广泛而重要的应用,它们的联合系统能够进行高质量的外延生长以及在原子或纳米尺度上对晶体外延表面结构以及表面上纳米结构的自组织生长过程进行直接的观察和研究。本论文利用UHV-SPM/MBE联合系统研究了Mg在Si(111)-7×7表面上自组织生长的过程与机理。 首先利用UHV-STM/MBE联合系统在原子级尺度上研究了Mg在Si(111)-7×7表面上的初期吸附机理。实验结果直接表明,在非常少量的沉积量下,Mg原子在Si(111)-7×7表面会优先占据在有层错亚单元(FHUC)一...The ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) scanning probe microscopy (SPM) and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) techniques have earned extensive and important application in a variety of research areas, and also provided a great impetus to their prosperities and developments in crystal growth and nanoscience.
