The text examines the presence of Carlo Sbisà at the Venice Biennale from 1948 to
1964. Sbisà participated at the XXIV Biennale di Venezia (1948) as painter, sculptor
and ceramist with the specific desire to show his new artistic interests. At the
Biennale of 1950 he exhibited a small sculpture in terracotta and some ceramics,
made with his wife Mirella Schott. He was present in all subsequent editions of
the Biennale until 1964 (except for the Biennales of 1958 and 1960). He always
exposed at the Pavilion of Decorative Arts were he showed the works in ceramics
created in collaboration with Mirella Schott
