Abstract

Problems concerning the solution of the coupled problem of interaction of a viscous fluid and elastic solid are considered. Interest is concentrated on numerical methods for the solution of evolutionary problem by means of finite elements. Fluid id described by Navier-Stokes equations and structure by Lame equations. An algorithm, based on domain-decomposition technique is also presented. Formulas and relations, which are necessary for numerical domains, were derived in details. The developed methods are applied in several problems of aeroelasticity in biomechanics. We study the interaction of flowing blood in elastic arteries and vibrations of vocal folds by means of flowing air.
