Untersuchungen zum zweidimensionalen Abbildungsverhalten eines Elektronen-und Ionenflugzeitspektrometers basierend auf elektrostatischen Paraboloid- und Ellipsoidspiegeln

Abstract

We developed and characterised a multiplexed data acquisition method with high repetition rate for photoelectron spectroscopy. The experimental work concentrated on the development of picosecond vacuum-UV and XUV laser source, its interface with an ultrahigh-vacuum experiment and especially on the development of an electron spectrometer with energy and angle resolving features. The experimental method is based on the time-of-flight analysis of the photoelectrons released by the laser pulse (energy analysis), and the angle conserving imaging on a two dimensional fast electron detection system by electrostatic electron reflectors. An energy resolution of dE = 16 meV at E = 2 eV pass energy was obtained with a 0.9 m drift length. With the final electron reflectors we achieved 50% of the theoretical possible enhancement of the electron signal.
