Abstract

A modular constructed 3-d laser radar has been realized as a laboratory test facility to study the different components and the measuring and interpretation methods. In addition, a first prototype has been built. Interference effects, e.g. speckles in combination with different phase sensitivities in the detector and phase relations in the emitting modes of the laser, have been analyzed and largely eliminated. Device optimization resulted in a conception allowing at 6 #mu#s - 1 ms measuring time precisions of 1 mm to < 0.1 mm per pixel at distances up to 10 m. Technology transfer is offered.
