During the treatment of the project ESF some methods for the object oriented system design were further developed and corresponding tools were implemented. The research work of our team as a subcontractor of Systemhaus CAP debis in Aachen were concentrated on the high-level design of hardware. As a result of it were created some theoretical foundations of the high-level design of hardware. A hardware design system named HADES was developed and implemented as a component of the CAD system ProMod"+. Theorectical and practical results for the administration of CAD objects, for acquiring and storing of design experience also for typification of elements of construction accompanied the main research work. Results mentioned above were achieved with the support of the program components object management system FRAMES, archive system ARCHIVE and a tool for the administration of type hierachies TYPEEDITOR. The design of HADES was made in conformance with an object oriented design method which was developed in our project team during a couple of years. The capacity and practical capability of this method was proved on the design process. The scientific-technical results of the project ESF are directly applied and further developed in the research and education at the institute of computer science at the University of Potsdam.
