Abstract

This project was dedicated to the application and extension of the UNIFAC distribution coefficient calculation method, and to measurements of the distribution coefficients of selected substances. A data base which collects and stores environmental distribution data (octanol/water) distribution coefficients, water solubility, Henry constants) provided the basis for application and extension of this method. The octanol/water distribution coefficients of pesticides and dyes were analyzed after setup of a suitable apparatus and optimization of the operational conditions. Liquid-liquid countercurrent chromatography (LLCCC) served to measure the distribution coefficients experimentally.
