BDELLIDAE (ACARI: ACTINEDIDA)OF THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS·Sabina Fajardo Swift and M. Three of these had been previouslyrecorded, five are new records, and six represent new taxa.Four genera are represented: Bdella with three species,Bdellodes with four, Cyta with two, and spinibdella withfive. Description and illustration of the adult stage of eachspecies and a key to the species for identification arepresented. Habitats reported for bdellids in the HawaiianIslands include sea walls, algal covered rocks, soil and leaflitter, plants, birds' nests, under stones, and extremehabitats such as fumaroles on Mauna Loa Volcano and a hot spoton Kilauea Volcano. Collection records of each species fromthe main Hawaiian and three Northwestern Hawaiian Islands arealso presented.*ABSTRACT83
