Abstract

The nature of a biomaterial surface will influence interactions that will occur thereon. specifically, the chemical composition and topography will dictate the availability of sites of reactivity thereby determining the interfacial response. At the biological level, it is this surface mediated response that indicates the biocompatibility of the material.
