The topic was Leafy Spurge, an aggressive and persistent perennial weed, that takes over untilled, noncropland habitats such a pastures, rangeland, roadsides, wooded areas, and waste areas. Areas where cattle can graze can be reduced by 50 to 75%. Picloram (Tordon), a herbicide, can reduce leafy spurge by 90%. Sulfometuron (Oust), a sulfonylurea herbicide, is used to many weed control applications in noncropland areas. Several trials were conducted to determine it's overall effectiveness against leafy spurge. Sulfometuron is the first herbicide know to directly inhibit leafy spurge root bud formation
