Suomen peruskoulujen oppimisjärjestelmien markkinatutkimus : Case: ICT-alan yritys

Abstract

Opinnäytetyön tarkoituksena oli tutkia markkinoita peruskouluissa käytettäville oppimisjärjestelmille. Opinnäytetyössä tutkittiin peruskoulujen oppimisjärjestelmien nykyistä tilaa sekä niiden tulevaisuuden kehityssuuntia. Opinnäytetyö suoritettiin toimeksiantona ICT-alan yritykselle. Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli kerätä toimeksiantajalle hyödyllistä tietoa tuotekehitystä varten. Opinnäytetyön teoreettiseen viitekehykseen kuuluvat oppimisjärjestelmien määrittely, tieto- ja viestintätekniikka, oppimisjärjestelmien kehittämistarpeet ja tulevaisuuden kehityssuunnat. Opinnäytetyön empiirinen tutkimus suoritettiin kvantitatiivisena tutkimuksena, jossa tietoa kerättiin perusjoukolta. Tutkimuksen perusjoukko koostuu Suomen peruskouluista. Tutkimus suoritettiin nettikyselylomakkeen avulla Surveymonkey-sivuston kautta. Tutkimuksen perusjoukko koostui 299 kunnasta, joista 160 kunnalle lähetettiin nettikyselylomake. Kyselyn vastaanottajat olivat kuntien opetuksesta vastaavia henkilöitä. Kysely lähetettiin 201 vastaanottajalle, joista 52 vastasi. Kyselyn vastausprosentti oli 26 %. Kyselylomake koostui strukturoiduista- ja avoimista kysymyksistä, jotka koskivat oppimisjärjestelmien sisältöä ja kehitystä. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, että oppimisjärjestelmät ovat laajasti käytössä peruskouluissa. Koulut myös hyötyvät oppimisjärjestelmien käytöstä. Uusien oppimisjärjestelmien hankinta oli ajankohtaista osalle perusjoukosta. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, että peruskoulut ovat enemmän kiinnostuneita uusien oppimisympäristöjen ja pedagogisten järjestelmien hankinnasta kuin oppilashallintojärjestelmien hankinnasta.The purpose of this thesis was to explore the markets for the educational software used in elementary schools. This thesis was conducted as an assignment for an ICT company. The aim of this research was to gather useful information for developmental planning in the company. This thesis explored the present state and future needs of the educational software used in elementary schools. The theoretical framework consists of a specification of educational software. The theory also includes information about the history, present state and direction for the future development of educational software. The empirical part was conducted as a quantitative study with the data gathered from the target group. The target group consisted of Finnish elementary schools. The research was conducted as a web survey via Surveymonkey. The target group consisted of 299 municipalities, of which 160 received the questionnaire. The recipients were people responsible for education in these municipalities. The questionnaire was sent to 201 recipients, of whom 52 answered. The response rate was 26 %. The survey consisted of structured and open questions related to the content and development of educational software. The results showed that educational software are widely used in elementary schools. Schools have also benefited from using this software. The results showed that acquiring new educational software is a topical issue for some of the target groups. The results showed that elementary schools are interested in acquiring new learning environments and pedagogical systems instead of new student administration systems
