BLANCA DE LA TORRE 
A reporter from TV-3 on the Gulfwar analyses the circumstances she 
lived through in Israel as a war correspondent and as a woman. 
She believes that in Israel the news was exhaustive, thanks to the network 
established by the military command, and the efficiency of the press 
office in the Hilton hotels in Jerusalem and in Tel Aviv. 
Israel, according to the journalist, was living in the middle of two 
frontiers, permanently open, one bounded by the frontiers with the 
Arab countries, a nd the other on e bordering with the occupied terri to ries. 
In this conflict, Israel took on its leading role as an attacked country, 
and through a sophisticated network including misinformation. The 
writer recalls how the best part of the war correspondents were women. TVE, 
TV-3, Telemadrid, TVG, RAI and CNN all had female correspondents.
