Este texto plantea una reflexión sobre las polémicas más destacadas acerca del papel de los intelectuales a lo largo del franquismo y, en particular, en los años sesenta. Se analizan las complejas familias ideológicas de los sectores derechistas de la sociedad española y sus múltiples polémicas y debates en torno a las posibles y variadas continuidades y rupturas de la tradición liberal española, partiendo del siglo XIX, pasando por la dictadura franquista, hasta llegar a la etapa democrática.
