A Mallorca la dictadura mantengué el poder de forma hegemònica. Les seves bases eren molt fortes social i políticament. Les iniciatives polítiques de l’oposició democràtica eren dinàmiques però el control social, polític i cultural i la repressió es mantenien amb èxit. Cal ressenyar la fidelitat a la llengua i cultura catalanes per part de la majoria de la població. Destacam l’activitat i l’habilitat d’un conjunt de professionals i intel·lectuals que malgrat de forma minoritària utilitzaren la llengua catalana a activitats culturals i a publicacions.In Mallorca the dictatorship remained in a hegemonic power.
