El presente artículo tiene como objetivo centrarse en la producción retratística de Tàpies entre los años 1950 y 1953, en que desarrolló una galería de retratos concebidos en un estilo hiperrealista. Aquí intentaremos desvelar las motivaciones de estas sorprendentes obras, habida cuenta de su autor, uno de los principales representantes del Informalismo; así como ubicarlos en el devenir de su trayectoria profesional.The goal of this article is to focus on the portraits which Tàpies painted between 1950 and 1953. These portraits were conceived under an Hiperrealist style, thing very astonishing because Tàpies is considered one of the best master painters of the Informalist movement. Here we will try to explain why he made these paintings and their relation with his conception of art and the rest of his work
