L’anomenat mestre Gilabertus de Toulouse i la seva obra, datada a l’entorn de 1120, fou un punt de referència significatiu d’un dels moments més importants de l’escultura romànica catalana. Recents aproximacions a la matèria permeten oferir un balanç d’aquesta influència reconeguda, testimoni d’unes relacions entre els tallers escultòrics tolosans i catalans que no s’exhaureix en la consideració del cercle productiu d’aquest mestre.The so-called master Gilabertus of Toulouse and his work, dated around 1120, was a significative reference term for one of the most important moments of the catalan romanesque sculpture.
