Desde sus orígenes mismos en el seno de la escuela socrática, la filosofía se refugió dentro de las seguras paredes de la Academia, como si en su doble fracaso, moral (Sócrates) y político (Platón), la filosofía hubiera aprendido para siempre las lecciones dadas por la Ciudad y por la política. Por otra parte, Europa había recorrido a lo largo de dos milenios una historia extraña y paradójica, pues ésta aparecía a los ojos de los intelectuales decimonónicos como atada inexorablemente al mundo de las Ideas de Platón (Marx, Nietzsche, por ejemplo). Como si en la realidad la filosofía hubiera terminado por realizarse en la historia, ganando así su disputa contra la Ciudad y contra la política. En este contexto y pensando en el mito de la caverna como texto fundacional (Heidegger y Arendt), recordando la recomendación de Platón (dar a probar la sangre a los niños), el autor se sirve del debate en Davos (Heidegger-Cassirer) para considerar la Gran Guerra desde la filosofía. From his origins themselves, in the Socratic school, philosophy took refuge within the safe walls of the Academy, as if in his double failure, moral (Socrates) and political (Plato), philosophy had learned lessons forever given by the City and by politics. Moreover, Europe had crossed a strange and paradoxical history, along two millenniums, because to the eyes of the intellectual ones nineteenth-century, the history seemed inexorably tied to the theory of the World of Plato's Ideas (Marx, Nietzsche, for example). As if the philosophy, it had been realized in the history, gaining, thereby, the dispute against the city and against the politics.
