Es resumeix la importància investigadora realitzada per Oriol de Bolòs i Capdevila a les Illes Balears. Aquesta ha abarcat camps d'estudi tan amples com la flora i la corologia. Destaquen especialment les seves aportacions al coneixement de la vegatació i flora de les Illes. Es reconeix que la determinant influència de la figura de Bolòs marca un abans i un després dins de les investigacion botàniques a les Illes.This is a summary of the important research contribution made to the natural history studies of the Balearic islands by oriol de Bolòs i Capdevila. This scientist has covered a broad field research, ranging from flora to chorology. Of outstanding note are his contributions to the knowledge of the vegetation and flora of the Balearic Islands. It is acknowledged that Oriol de Bolòs findings have made a lasting impression on the Balearic botanical research
