Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on lastensuojelun sijaishuollon ja erityisopetuksen kehittäminen tutkimalla nuorta tukevan tukiverkoston välistä yhteistyötä. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan lastensuojelun perhekodin ja ammatillisen erityisoppilaitoksen työntekijöiden kokemuksia työntekijöiden välisestä yhteistyöstä sekä sitä, miten yhteistyötä heidän mielestään tulisi kehittää. Tutkimuksen yhteistyökumppaneina toimivat Nuorten Ystävien Koulukoti Pohjolakoti sekä ammattiopisto Luovi.
Tutkimuksen teoreettisessa viitekehyksessä käsitellään yhteistyötä käsitteenä sekä työmuotona lastensuojelun sijaishuollossa ja ammatillisessa erityisopetuksessa. Tutkimus on fenomenologiseen ajatteluun pohjautuva laadullinen tapaustutkimus. Tutkimuksessa tiedonhankintamenetelmänä käytettiin teemahaastattelua ja analyysimenetelmänä teemoittelua. Sekä haastattelun teemat että analyysin teemoittelu pohjautuivat SWOT-analyysiin. SWOT-analyysia mukaillen yhteistyötä tarkasteltiin nykytilanteen vahvuuksien ja heikkouksien sekä edessä olevien kehittämisen mahdollisuuksien ja uhkien kautta.
Tutkimuksen työntekijät pitivät yhteistyötä tarpeellisena ja toimivana. Sen hetken yhteistyö vastasi heidän yhteistyölle asettamiaan odotuksia ja vaatimuksia. Yhteistyössä toteutuivat hyvin työntekijöiden yhteistyöhalukkuuteen, motivaatioon ja vuorovaikutukseen liittyvät osa-alueet. Sitä vastoin ammattirajojen ylittämistä ja toisen asiantuntija-alueelle astumista vaativat yhteistyötavat eivät toteutuneet työntekijöiden toiveiden mukaisesti.
Työntekijöiden toimintaan liittyvät kehittämisehdotukset koskivat yhteistyön tiiviyden, joustavuuden ja toisen työn tukemisen lisäämistä, sovittua ja järjestelmällistä kasvatuslinjausten yhtenäistämistä sekä säännöllisten tapaamisten lisäämistä. Organisaatiotasoiset kehittämisehdotukset käsittelivät erilaisten yhteistyötä tukevien toimintojen kehittämistä. Konkreettisia kehittämisehdotuksia olivat päivystävän numeron järjestäminen ja opintojenseurausjärjestelmän luominen Internetiin, yhteisten toimintalinjausten luominen, vanhempainiltojen muokkaaminen ja työntekijöiden tutustumismahdollisuuksien järjestäminen.The thesis explores the employees’ views and experiences about the co-operation between the Luovi vocational college and the residential foster homes of the Pohjolakoti. The main objective was to gather the employees’ opinions about the present state of co-operation and their wishes of developing it.
The theoretical part introduces the concept of the co-operation and the co-operation methods. In addition, the theoretical part of the study discusses the co-operation in vocational colleges and residential foster homes of child welfare.
The study was qualitative case study and its philosophical approach was phenomenological. The data was gathered through five thematic interviews and analyzed through theming. The structure of the thematic interviews and the conclusions of the research results were adapted from SWOT-analysis. The data and results were divided into strengths and weaknesses of the present state of co-operation, and development and threats of the future co-operation.
The results show that the employees are generally satisfied with the present state of the co-operation. Strengths of the co-operation were areas related to interaction between employees, motivation and willingness to co-operate. Main weaknesses were forms of cooperation that required crossing the professional borders.
Research showed also how the co-operation could be developed. Workers hoped to increase intensity and flexibility of co-operation. There were also needs for educational alignment and increased regular appointments. From the organizations the employees hoped creating an on-call number, an interactive Web program to monitor the studies of their youngsters, the general guidelines to the co-operation, customizing the parent meetings and arranging events that would help the employees become more acquainted with each other
