As a result of the armed uprising of the 18th
of July of 1936, in the areas where the republican
feeling was highly active, took place
a religious persecution which would have
serious human and inherited consequences.
Caldes de Malavella was one of this revolutionary
focus, and everything related with
the religious community of that town was
suppressed to an important repression. The
following years of the extinction of that period,
the ecclesiastic and civil institutions
started a process to recollect information to
identify the diverse criminal manifestations
which were caused there. This valuable documentation
let us to know how the revolutionary
wave was lived in this township

tindria greus conseqüències humanes i
patrimonials. Caldes de Malavella va ser
un d’aquests focus revolucionaris, i tot
allò relacionat amb la comunitat religiosa
d’aquesta població va ser sotmès a una
dura repressió sense precedents. Els anys
posteriors a l’extinció d’aquest període,
tant la institució eclesiàstica com la
civil van iniciar un procés de recollida
d’informació per identificar les diverses
manifestacions delictives que s’hi van
originar. Aquesta valuosa documentació
ens permet conèixer, de primera mà,
