Ammattikorkeakouluopiskelijoiden tyytyväisyys opiskeluterveydenhuoltoon

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme käsittelee opiskeluterveydenhuoltoa. Selvittelemme työssämme opiskelijoiden tyytyväisyyttä opiskeluterveydenhuoltoon. Työssämme käsittelemme myös Ylioppilaiden terveydenhoitosäätiön, YTHS:n toimintaa. Tähän päädyimme, koska julkisuudessa on keskusteltu YTHS:n mallin soveltamisesta ammattikorkeakouluihin. Opinnäytetyössämme selvitämme tuntevatko opiskelijat YTHS:n toimintaa ja haluaisivatko he käyttää YTHS:n palveluita. Opinnäytetyössämme sovellamme Sosiaali- ja terveysministeriön julkaisemaa Opiskeluterveydenhuollon oppaan sisältöä selvittäessämme opiskelijoiden tyytyväisyyttä opiskelijaterveydenhuoltoon. Ammattikorkeakouluopiskelijoista osa ei tiennyt mitä palveluja tarjotaan. Vastaajista osa koki palveluista tiedottamisen huonoksi tai melko huonoksi. Opiskelijat kokivat palveluihin pääsyn pääosin helpoksi. Eniten toivottiin hammashuollon palveluiden kehittämistä. Myös koulun lääkärin vastaanoton toimintaa tulisi kehittää. Terveydenhoitajan palvelut koettiin pääosin hyväksi nykyisellään. Vastaajista suurempi osa haluaisi omaan oppilaitokseen YTHS:n palvelut ja suurempi osa olisi myös valmis maksamaan opiskeluterveydenhuollosta. Kuitenkaan osa opiskelijoista ei olisi valmis maksamaan opiskeluterveydenhuollosta. Yhteenvetona voimme todeta, että opiskelijat ovat tyytyväisiä opiskeluterveydenhuoltoon, mutta myös kehitettävää olisi. Opiskelijat osaavat itse nimetä kehittämisehdotuksia ja odotuksiaan opiskeluterveydenhuollon palveluita kohtaan. YTHS:n palvelut ovat suurimmalle osalle ammattikorkeakouluopiskelijoista tuntemattomia, eivätkä kaikki olisi valmiita siirtymään siihen ilman soveltamistaOur thesis is a survey of student satisfaction with student health care services. We also examined the operation of the Finnish Student Healt Service, FSHS, because there has been public discussion about applying the FSHS model also to the universities of applied sciences. In our thesis we surveyed whether students are aware of the FSHS services and whether they would be willing to use the services. In our satisfaction survey we applied the student health care guide published by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. A part of the students were not aware of the services available. Some respondents felt that information on the services was poor or fairly poor. The students felt that the services were easily available, but they wanted further development of dental care and school doctor services. The present services of the school public health nurse were regarded as good. The majority of the respondents wanted access to the FSHS services and were willing to pay for the services. However, a part of the students were not willing to pay for student health care. In conclusion we can say that students are satisfied with student health care but there is still some room for improvement. Students can point out their expectations and proposals for development in student health care, but the FSHS services are quite unfamiliar to most of the students in universities of applied sciences and they would not be willing to adopt the FSHS model without modifications
