It is studied the fauna of Histeridae in high mountain,specially that of Catalan Pyrenees. The data of the biogeographical distribution of
both zones are included.
Species of wide distribution Palaearctic and Eurosiberian prevail. It must be indicated as the most interesting species in the Pyrenees Ple gaderus vulneratus (Panz.), Abraeus granulum Er., Cylister angustatus
(Hoffm.), Myrmetes piceus (Payk.) and Hetaerius ferrugineus (01.). The most outstanding in Montseny mountains are Saprinus virescens (Payk.)
and Hister helluo Truqui
