La batalla de Muret ha generat des del segle xix una abundant literatura
històrica, tant acadèmica com de divulgació. Aquesta contribució ofereix algunes
reflexions al voltant de diverses idees arrelades sobre la gènesi d'aquest
esdeveniment, sobre la mateixa batalla, sobre els seus protagonistes i sobre les
seves conseqüències històriques. S'hi analitzen alguns tòpics relatius a la derrota
de Muret, especialment a la historiografia catalana, així com el lloc que mereix
aquesta batalla tant en la seva època com en la nostra. L'objectiu és reflexionar
sobre la nostra percepció del passat medieval i assolir una comprensió més bona
del que va passar aquell dijous 12 de setembre de 1213.The battle of Muret has generated since the nineteenth century an abundant
historical literature, both academic as well as outreach. This contribution
offers some reflections on various entrenched ideas about the genesis of this
event, the own battle, their protagonists and their historical consequences. We
analyze some clichés relating to the defeat of Muret, especially in the Catalan
historiography, and the place that this battle deserves in his time and in ours.Our aim is to reflect on our perception of the medieval past and achieve a better
understanding of what happened that Thursday 12th September 1213
