L?article consta de tres parts. La primera estudia el procés metonímic que transforma el concepte d?espill en una metàfora d?abast religiós, filosòfic i literari, i l?assimilació del judaisme operada des del cristianisme a partir del concepte de tipus i de l?anomenada teoria figural. Aquesta teoria és suficientment explanada en relació amb el concepte especular, en el marc de la polèmica antijueva. La segona i tercera parts introdueixen la Biblia pauperum i l?Speculum humanae Salvationis, i mostren que l?autor de l?Spill fa un ús molt conscient de les ?figures? cristocèntriques i marianes més importants que remeten sovint als comentaris i representacions plàstiques divulgats per la BP i l?SHS, manuals que esdevenen així dos importants instruments filològics. Hom conclou que Roig-Salomó proposa, entre altres coses, una lectura meditativa i figural de la Bíblia.While the first part of this article tries to give a general outlook of the metonymical process which relates the image of the mirror in religious literature (specially Catalan), to the seminal concept of typology as used by St. Paul and medieval Christian Theology as a practical tool to assimilate Judaism, the second and third parts introduce the Biblia Pauperum and the Speculum Humanae salvationis, in order to show how those two important manuals, mainly ignored by Catalan philologists, offer important clues to a better understanding of Jaume Roig?s, Spill.
