L'article planteja una exposició detallada i documentada del que hauria de ser una
nova figura en la tipologia moral aristotèlica, la figura del φαûλος, que caldria diferenciar
específicament de les figures del viciós, d'una banda, i de l'incontinent de l'altra, totes dues
sistemàticament exposades a la font. A manca, però, d'una exposició aristotèlica d'aquest
caire quant al tipus φαûλος, s'hi aporten arguments i evidències que mostrarien que es tracta
d'una figura indefugible a l'hora de donar ple sentit a aquella tipologia. Aquest desvetllament
d'una nova possibilitat d'agent moral a l'ètica aristotèlica hauria de facilitar, endemés,
una més completa intel·lecció de la sencera filosofia moral de l'Estagirita, l'exposició de la
qual ha estat històricament decantada cap a la polaritat virtuós-viciós i, segons el moment,
també cap a la figura de l'incontinent.This paper shows a detailed and documented exposition of what should be a
new figure in the Aristotelian moral typology, the figure of φαûλος, which should be clearly
differentiated, on one hand, of the figure of the vicious person, and on the other hand, of
the figure of the incontinent person, each of them sistematically explained by Aristotle.
Lacking the texts of the author this kind of explanation about the φαûλος, arguments and
evidences are showed in order to affirm that this new figure is crucial in giving full sense
to that typology. This revelation of a new possibility of moral agent in Aristotelian ethics
should facilitate, furthermore, a more complete comprehension of the entire moral philosophy
of the author, a comprehension that has been historically tilted towards the polarity
between virtuous and vicious, and sometimes to the figure of the incontinent
