(…)The goal of this essay is double: on the one hand, to show the genealogy of Falangist rhetoric in a theory of sacrifice that circulates from Ganivet to Ortega, linked to regeneracionista concerns on race and biopolitical selection; on the other hand, to show how this line of thinking determines the very beginnings of Hispanism (…)La finalidad de este artículo es doble: por una parte mostrar la genealogía de cierta retórica falangista en la teoría del sacrificio que viene circulando en la literatura española desde Ganivet a Ortega, vinculada siempre a los afanes regeneracionistas en términos de selección y raza, culturalmente entendida, y por otra dar cuenta de hasta qué punto esta línea de pensamiento, que a pesar de presentarse como regeneracionista queda atravesada por un profundo carácter reaccionario, está en el origen de la disciplina del hispanismo, que de este modo serviría ab initio a estos ideales sacrificiales y de selección
