Este trabajo se centra en el estudio de la relación entre poética, estética y sutileza-ligereza, que es posible establecer en la descripción llevada a cabo por Italo Calvino en “Le città sottili“. Como veremos, cada una de las cinco ciudades que componen este grupo se caracteriza por una arquitectura peculiar, pero en todas se aprecia la ausencia de peso. En el artículo, además, se busca el significado del nombre de cada ciudad aplicando la técnica de la gematría (= conversión de las letras en números).This work focuses on the study of the relationship between poetics, aesthetics and subtileness- lightness that it is possible to establish in the description carried out by Italo Calvino in “Le città sottili”. As we will see, each one of the five towns that compose this group is characterized by a peculiar architecture, but in all them the absence of weight is appreciated. In the article, besides, the meaning of the name of each city is searched applying the technique of gematry (=conversion of the letters in numbers)
