This article talks about the figure of Faustino de Muscat and Guzman, a Spanish pseudo-arabist who lived in the second half of the eighteenth century, and he was known by different names, including Faustino de Borbon, used in some of his works. After reviewing the few biographical details, we know about this character, most of them are provided by him in his writings, we study the books that he wrote, that they remain handwritten in different archives and libraries. The main subjects of these books deal with the history, language and literature of Hispano Arab civilization in the Middle Age. One of the few works that it was published, named Letters to illustrate the history of Arab Spain, was widely criticized, both in his time and later, and, for this reason, it has a separate chapter, the last one of this article.Este artículo analiza la figura de Faustino de Muscat y Guzmán, filoarabista español que vivió en la segunda mitad de la decimoctava centuria, y que usó diferentes nombres, entre ellos el de Faustino de Borbón, con el que firmó alguno de sus trabajos. Después de pasar revista a los escasos datos biográficos que conocemos de este personaje, y que, en buena medida, son proporcionados por él mismo en sus escritos, se enumeran las obras que redactó, la mayoría de las cuales permanecen manuscritas en diferentes archivos y bibliotecas, atendiendo principalmente a las que guardan relación con la historia, lengua y literatura hispano-árabes medievales. Una de las pocas que vieron la luz pública, que tituló Cartas para ilustrar la historia de la España árabe, fue muy criticada, tanto en su época como posteriormente, y, por este motivo, se le dedica un capítulo aparte
