What we name political pilgrimage cinema arrives in Cuba for the first time in the sixties as a consequence of the confluence between the heyday of the mass media civilization and the revolutionarism. This cinema, which is composed by twenty films, has a seminal value with regard to the foundation and reproduction of the so-called Cuban revolutionary imaginary, and the development of the Left’s imaginary in general. The symbolical register of this cinema was negotiated between the political Other and Self; that is, between the Cuban Revolution, on one hand, as a way to look for its legitimation at an international level; and, on the other hand, those European filmmakers who went to the island as political pilgrims in order to appropriate the Cuban Revolution’s militant precepts.Lo que hemos denominado cine de peregrinaje político tiene su consolidación en Cuba durante el decenio de 1960 como consecuencia de la confluencia entre el auge de la civilización mediática y el revolucionarismo. Compuesto por casi una veintena de películas, este cine posee un valor seminal respecto al surgimiento y la reproducción de lo cubano revolucionario, así como al devenir de los imaginarios de izquierda en general. Un cine cuyo registro simbólico ha sido negociado entre el otro y el yo políticos, es decir entre la Revolución Cubana en su intento de legitimarse y el peregrinaje intelectual desde las dos Europas de la Guerra Fría apropiándose de sus preceptos militantes. Por lo se trata también de reparar en los aspectos geopolíticos de su producción y en la consecuente transnacionalidad de su imaginario
