Acude a la Clínica del Comportamiento Animal referida por su veterinario, una perra mestiza de Podenco Español de nombre Manda, de tres años de edad. El motivo de la consulta fue salivación excesiva, temblores, inmovilidad, jadeos e intento de huída frente a situaciones de ruido intenso, especialmente petardos y el griterío de los niños a la salida del colegio. El examen físico y los resultados de los análisis clínicos de laboratorio arrojaron valores normales. Se diagnosticó un problema de fobia a ruidos. El tratamiento consistió en un programa de modificación de conducta y terapia farmacológica (cloracepato por vía oral a una dosis de 1 mg/kg/día por cuatro semanas y fluoxetina por vía oral a una dosis de 1 mg/kg/día por trece semanas). La terapia de psicofármacos controló la ansiedad, lo cual facilitó el programa de modificación de conducta. Tras 13 semanas de tratamiento los síntomas desaparecieron y los propietarios tienen un buen control sobre Manda.Manda is female dog three years old that was suffering a disorder behavior.
