Determination of Depth to Permafrost by Geophysical Methods

Abstract

Geophysical methods have long been used with a great deal of success, by the oil and mining industries in exploring for mineral deposits within the earth. This success led to the suggestion that the same techniques might be applied to shallow depth exploration of engineering interest. Recent advances in instrumentation, however, have produced equipment designed especially for shallow depth investigations.Peer reviewed: NoNRC publication: Ye
