This clinic is mainly for STD. 1500 questionnaires were distributed and 1266 answers returned. 20% of respondents came as a direct result of our contact tracing and 29% came on recommendation by friends, but 11 % were referred by physicians. Approximately 50% had no prior knowledge of the department. Approximately 80% were pleased with the receptions at the department, but 1.2% were not. The main complaint was long waiting time (41%) but 3% were somewhat displeased with the staff. 81.8% found the present name of the department appropriate. When given a choice of a few names, 59.0% voted for the present name, 11.9% voted for »Infectious disease outpatient clinic« and 6% for »Department of sexually transmitted diseases«.Viðhorf sjúklinga sem sækja húð- og kynsjúkdómadeild Heilsuverndarstöðvar Reykjavíkur voru könnuð. Spurningalistar voru afhentir 1500 sjúklingum, en 1266 svör bárust. Um 20% sjúklinga komu að beiðni deildarinnar og önnur 29% komu vegna ráðlegginga vina. Um 11% var vísað á deildina af læknum. Um helmingur þeirra sem komu höfðu ekkert heyrt um deildina áður en þeir komu, en um 35% höfðu heyrt að móttökur á deildinni væru góðar. Um 80% voru ánægðir með móttökurnar en 1.7% voru óánægðir eftir heimsóknina. Langri bið þótti hvað mest ábótavant. Um 81% aðspurðra fannst ekkert athugavert við nafn deildarinnar og þegar spurt var um nafn völdu 59.0% húð-og kynsjúkdómadeild, 15.8% smitsjúkdómadeild, en 7.8% kynsjúkdómadeild
