近代国民国家にとってエスニシティは今や例外的現象ではなく、一定の説明を求められている「近代的」現象である。いわゆる「近代化論」以降、様々な理論がエスニシティの解明のために提唱されてきたが、それらの理論間の関係を明示的に取り上げた研究は少ない。本論文では、K. W. Deutshの「動員(Mobilization)」概念に焦点を当て、近代化論と並んでいわゆる「動員主義的アプローチ」に基づく理論(「民族支配論」と「民族競合論」) の再検討を試みる。その際、分析的に動員概念を「階級的動員」と「エスニックな動員」に分け、それらの動員要素が活性化する過程を明らかにするための分析枠組みを提出する。この分析枠組みに基づいて個々の理論の理論的前提や特性を明らかにしたい。最後に、こうして得られた分析枠組みをもとに、諸理論の相対的な位置づけをおこない、個々の理論をより一般的な枠組みの中で解釈することを可能にする。For modern nation states, ethnicity is not a phenomenon that is exceptionally occurred but one which is to be explained as a "modem phenomenon" . In this article, the concept of “mobilization" advocated by K.W.Deutch is used to reassess the theories based on "mobilization approaches" that is “reactive ethnic model" and "ethnic resources competition model" included "developmental ethnicity model". The concepts of "class mobilization" and "ethnic mobilization" can be introduced to construct the analysis scheme which shows the process where mobilization resources is vitalized. In conclusion, to use this scheme, these models are located and interpreted in the more general framework
