Sairaalapotilaan tiedontarve neurotoimialueen potilailla SPTT ©- mittarilla mitattuna

Abstract

Tämä tutkimus kuuluu osana Tulevaisuuden sairaala-hoitotyön kehittämisprojektin potilasohjauksen osatehtävään. Projekti toteutetaan Varsinais-Suomen sairaanhoitopiirin ja Turun ammattikorkeakoulun yhteistyönä 2009–2015. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää sairaalapotilaan tiedontarvetta VSSHP:n tulevalla neurologisella toimialueella SPTT © -mittarilla toteutettuna. Tavoite on kehittää neurologisen ja neurokirurgisen potilaan potilasohjausta. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin Turun yliopistollisesta sairaalasta osastoilta 714, 210, 219, 720 ja 221 ja Salon aluesairaalan neurologian poliklinikalta ja sisätautien yksiköstä. Tutkimus toteutettiin seitsemällä eri osastolla Varsinais-suomen sairaanhoitopiirissä. Vastausprosentti oli (n=67) 42 %. Tutkimukseen osallistuneista suurin osa oli 35–65- vuotiaita. Potilaat tarvitsivat paljon tietoa hoitoon liittyvistä komplikaatioista ja siitä miten he voivat itse vaikuttaa niiden ehkäisyyn. Toiminnallisella osa-alueella tarvittiin tietoa yksilökohtaisten tarpeiden hoitamisesta sairaalassa/poliklinikalla. Tutkimuksessa nousi myös esiin kokemuksellisella osa-alueella tiedon tarve sairauden aiheuttamista tunteista ja niiden käsittelystä. Eettisessä osiossa potilaat halusivat tietoa omasta vastuustaan hoidon onnistumisessa ja siitä, kenelle potilasta koskevat tiedot annetaan. Sosiaalis-yhteisöllisessä osa-alueessa eniten mietitytti jakohoitopaikan ja tukihenkilön järjestyminen. Ekonomisella alueella tiedon tarvetta oli vakuutusasioissa ja sairauspäivärahoissa. Opinnäytetyössä tuli esille selkeästi potilaiden tarve saada lisää tietoa, sekä ne osa-alueet joilta tietoa tarvitaan. Potilasohjausta tulisi tehostaa ja olisi toivottavaa, että tätä opinnäytetyötä käytettäisiin yhtenä välineenä potilasohjauksessa.This study is part of the Future Hospital – Development Project in nursing. The project is carried out as a cooperation between Hospital District of Southwest Finland and Turku University of Applied Sciences during 2009-2015. The purpose of this study was to determine the patients need of information measured by RKHP©- scale. The aim was to explore what kind of information the neurological patients need. The data were collected in Turku University Hospital wards 714, 210, 219, 720 and 221 and the Salo Regional Hospital outpatient clinic of neurology and internal medicine unit. The study was conducted in seven different departments of Southwest Finland Health Care District. The response rate was (n = 67) by 42%. The majority of the study participants were 35-65 years of age. The patients required a lot of information on treatment-related complications and how they can influence their prevention. In the functional area, the need of information focused on how they can take care of their individual needs at the hospital. The study also highlighted an experi-mental part of the district's patients need for information about feelings and how to handle them. In the ethics section the patients wanted information on their own responsibility for the success of treatment, and what are their rights at the hospital. In socio-communal area patients wanted to know where their relatives can have information about illness. In the economic part, the pa-tients wanted information concerning rehabilitation and expenses. As a result of the study, it can be concluded that there is a clear need for more information. In addition, the areas where information is needed were clarified. The patient guidance should be enhanced, and we would hope that this thesis would be used as a tool in patient education
