The effects of pedagogical studies on development as a playing teacher

Abstract

Tässä pedagogisessa opinnäytetyössä pohditaan, kuinka pianonsoitonopettajan pedagoginen ajattelu ja ammattitaito muusikkona kehittyivät koulutuksen aikana. Tähän vaikuttivat sekä pedagogiset opinnot että opinnäyteproduktion valmistelu. Produktion edetessä tekijä joutui pohtimaan useita asioita, joita oppilaat kohtaavat opiskellessaan pianonsoittoa. Työssä käydään läpi harjoitteluun ja esiintymiseen vaikuttavia tekijöitä. Lisäksi tekijä pohtii, kuinka opinnot vaikuttivat opettajan arviointikykyihin. Tämän prosessin yhteydessä tekijä huomasi myös, kuinka tärkeitä pedagogiset opinnot ovat käytännön kannalta. Tekijä oppi reflektoimaan omaa toimintaansa ja ymmärsi, että opetuksen pitää olla oppilaslähtöistä. Työssä pohditaan, millä tavoin opettaja voi vaikuttaa oppilaiden motivaatioon kannustavasti ja oppilasta tukien. Tekijä pohti myös, mitkä tekijät vaikuttavat opettajan omaan motivoitumiseen ja työssä jaksamiseen.Työssä kuvataan, miten oppilaitoksen opetussuunnitelmilla ja yleisillä asenteilla voi vaikuttaa oppilaiden ja opettajien viihtyvyyteenIn this diploma project the author describes, how piano teacher`s pedagogical thinking and profession as a musician developed during the education. Pedagogical studies and lied concertproduction effected both on this process. During the concert production the maker had to think of same things as her students. Practising and performing reminded the maker of the same problems, what pupils have when they prepare a concert. The evaluation of the concert effected also makers own ideas of evaluation. During these studies the author noticed, how much pedagogical studies effect on teacher´s practical work. The author learned to reflect her own teaching and understood, that teaching should always start from students´ needs. This report describes how teacher can motivate students. The author thought also how a playing teacher can motivate herself in her work without becoming fatigued. This work contains also thoughts of the learning plans of the music schools and how they effect on teachers attitudes and work
