Local steroid injection is commonly used as an adjunctive therapy in articular disease and soft tissue rheumatism. It may also be used as a bridge for earlier symptomatic relief in inflammatory arthritis, especially rheumatoid arthritis. In this article, we describe some of the general considerations of this procedure.
