This paper discusses the correlation between the American military-industrial complex and the application of robotics over the course of the 20th and 21st centuries. The military-industrial complex has encouraged scientists to spend time developing weaponry and reconnaissance devices designed to hurt other human beings rather than investing in machines that have to potential to provide humanitarian aid.
