У статті постулюється думка про те, що саме в писарській практиці XVI – XVIII ст. закладалися основи фонетичного принципу українського правопису.The major phenomena of historic evolution graphic and orthography features of the Ukrainian language are analysed. The orthographic system at that time was not yet development enough to permit the penetration of the phonetic spoken influence into the language of literature.
