Nurses may experience higher levels ofconflict between work and family due to excessive workload, long working hours, working inrotating shift, working in weekend, irregular work schedules and so forth. Nurse's work-familyconflict phenomenon can lead to problems in the individual, the family and the organization.Effective use of time is an inevitable prerequisite for success in work and life. Time managementskills, including the time control and better use of time; and it is also one of the ways ofachieving a balance between work and life. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of timemanagement on work-family conflict in critical care nurses.Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 132 Nurses working in IntensiveCare Units of Kerman University of Medical Sciences that were entered by census method instudy. They were assigned randomly in two groups, control and intervention. Data were collectedbefore and after educational workshop, using work-family conflict, time management behaviorsmd demographic questionnaires. The time management skills were taught in the interventiongoup for 4 hours. One month later, all participants in both groups completed questionnairesagain. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 19 and Chi-square test, Independent t-test, Pairedt- test and Spearman Correlation coefficients.Findings: The results showed a significant difference in terms of work - family conflict betweent\*'o groups (P<0.0001). The results also showed significant difference in terms of work-familyconflict score, before and after intervention in the intervention group (P<0.0001). Control andintervention groups had significant difference in time managemeni score (P< 0.0001) and inintervention group, there was significant diflerence in time management score in before and afterintervention stage (P< 0.0001).Conclusion: This study confirmed the impact of the inten,ention on improving time:::nagement skills and decreasing in u,ork- family conflict.
