The intriguing measurement data of microclimatic conditions in the microclimate box with the painting The Martyrdom Of St Vincent in the Museum of the Dominican Monastery in Dubrovnik

Abstract

U ovom radu prikazani su rezultati mjerenja koji pokazuju da mikroklimatske komore imaju pozitivan utjecaj na stabiliziranje relativne vlažnosti zraka za čuvanje starih, osjetljivih slika na drvu. Zabilježene su dvije intrigantne, nagle oscilacije uvjeta u jednoj mikroklimatskoj komori u dva navrata u razmaku od 4 mjeseca. S obzirom da takvih oscilacija nije bilo tijekom ostalih gotovo 14 godina mjerenja u istom prostoru – proučene su okolnosti takvih mjernih rezultata u svrhu definiranja pouke i djelovanja ubuduće.This paper presents results of measurements that show the benefit of the microclimate chambers at the stabilisation of relative humidity. Intriguing, data logger in the Museum of the Dominican Monastery in Dubrovnik registered two sudden, strange oscillations in the microclimate chamber that protects one of the renaissance paintings on wood. Since oscillations happened twice in the four months and nothing similar happened during 14 years of measurements in the same place, it was found worth of investigation. The purpose of the present paper is to explore the circumstances of such measurement results and find out what happened and what to do to avoid such oscillations in the future
