CORELATION BETWEEN COMMITED AND SUFFERED PEER VIOLENCE AND PERCEIVED SCHOOL CLIMATE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Abstract

Cilj rada je analizirati doprinos nekih elemenata školske klime na činjenje i doživljavanje vršnjačkog nasilja u osnovnoj školi. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 147 učenika od četvrtih do osmih razreda jedne osnovne škole (45,6% učenica), prosječno starih 12 godina koji su, nakon pribavljenog informiranog pristanka njihovih roditelja, ispunjavali integralni upitnik sastavljen od Olweusovog upitnika (1998), Upitnik nasilnik / žrtva, adaptirane Skale percipirane sigurnosti u školi (Buljan Flander, Durman Marijanović i Ćorić Špoljar, 2007) i Skale školske klime i sukoba u školi (Puzić, Baranović i Doolan, 2011). Provedene su deskriptivna, korelacijska i regresijska analiza. 17,7% učenika vršilo je vršnjačko nasilje nad drugima učenicima ponekad, često ili gotovo uvijek,a 20,4% učenika sustavno je, opetovano i često doživjelo vršnjačko nasilje od strane drugih učenika u posljednjih nekoliko mjeseci. Vršnjačko nasilje češće čine dječaci i stariji učenici, kao i učenici koji više percipiraju destruktivne međuljudske odnose između učenika u školi. Vršnjačko nasilje češće doživljavaju mlađi učenici i učenici koji više percipiraju da je škola nesigurno mjesto. Autori predlažu da škola uz podršku lokalne zajednice pokrene i provodi preventivni program vršnjačkog nasilja s ciljem stvaranja konstruktivnih i prosocijalnih odnosa među učenicima te osiguravanja osjećaja sigurnosti za sve, a osobito za mlađe učenike.The aim of this pape ris to analyze the contribution of some elements oft he school climate on the commiting and the experiencing of bullying in primarys chool. Participants of the research were 147 pupils of fourth to eight grade in primary school (46% female, average age of 12). After their parent’s informed consent, pupils fullfiled integral questionaries whichcontained Bully/VictimQuestionnaire (Olweus, 1998), Scale of Perceived Security in School (Buljan Flander i Andall., 2007) and Scale of School Climate and Conflicts in School (Puzić and all., 2011). Descriptive, correlation and regresion anallyisis were conducted. 17.7% of students commited bullying over other students sometimes, often or almost always. 20.4% of students systematically, repeatedly and often experienced bullying from other students in the last few months. Bullying is more often commited by boys and older students and students who perceive more destructive interpersonal relationships between students in school. Bullyng is more often experienced by younger students and students who are increasingly perceived that the school is a ununsafe place. The authors suggest that school,with the support of local community initiate and implement the peer violence prevention program in order to create constructive and pro-social relationships among students and to ensure a sense of security for all, especially for younger students
