Methods: Just the documental and hermeneutical methods were employed to review the literature. Results: It was found from the sources reviewed that: 1) Critical thinking for the reading of general information recorded in documents by undergraduate students in general was deficient; 2) Critical thinking for the reading of sport information recorded in documents by undergraduate students was even more deficient than in careers like philosophy, sociology, and the humanities. Conclusions: By the results obtained it is concluded that the capabilities of critical and skeptical thinking of sport undergraduate students towards the reading of general or sport information recorded in documents in order to analyze it and communicate it are very deficient, and therefore they have serious problems to be able to detect logical fallacies, rhetorical ploys, deceits or plain charlatanism, and, thus, it is required to be considered the sub-discipline of Sport Librarianship seriously into account and included as a subject, and other derived from it in the curriculum of the sciences of sport and the physical culture and activity, that include reading with critical and skeptical thinking to solve such problems as it happens now in Canada and Australia
