Primera nidificació documentada de la Cetla blanca Anas querquedula a les illes Balears

Abstract

First documented breeding by the garganey Anas querquedula in the Balearic Islands. Details are given of the observations made in spring 2007 documenting the first breeding, of between 1 and 3 pairs, of garganey Anas querquedula at the Albufera and the Balearic Islands. The minimum number of young to survive was 3, although there were probably as many as 5. Breeding took place in extensively grazed areas of reed bed and rushes standing in shallow water
