La multifuncionalidad implica que el hombre o mujer conozca el territorio que habita a fin de aprovecharlo de manera diversificada y sustentable. El objetivo es presentar las fortalezas y oportunidades del Parque Natural "El Hondo". La metodología desarrollada es geográfica enriquecida con técnicas cualitativas (observación participante y entrevistas), cuantitativas (análisis de bases de datos estadísticos), fueron empleados materiales impresos y digitales en trabajo de gabinete además de siete recorridos exploratorios en campo cuyos resultados son la viabilidad económica de la agricultura, ganadería, caza, pesca y turismo en armonía con la integridad ambiental, la preservación de los ecosistemas y conservación de la biodiversidad. Se alojan aves migratorias; es el tercer sitio significativo en España para el avistamiento de aves; incluido en el Convenio RAMSAR de protección de zonas húmedas y presencia de fauna ictícola endémica. Entre las conclusiones se encuentran: El Centro de Información es muy completo para el avistamiento de aves ya que ostenta la infraestructura y equipamiento indispensable para la observación "in situ" digno de una Localidad de Importancia Comunitaria (LIC) y estar considerada como una Zona de Especial Protección para la Aves (ZEPA) de la Unión Europea.Multi-functionality means that men or women know the territory they live in, so as to make the most of its diversified and sustainable ways. The aim is to present the strengths of the Natural Park “El Hondo”. The methodology which was developed is geographical enriched with qualitative (interviews and participants’ observations), and quantitative techniques (statistical analysis of data bases); materials and digital research work were printed besides eighteen exploratory tours in field whose results are the economic viability of the agriculture, livestock, hunting, fishing, and tourism in harmony with the environmental integrity, the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity. Migratory birds are sheltered here; this is the third significant site in Spain for bird watching; included in the RAMSAR Convention on wetlands’ protection and presence of endemic fish fauna. Among the conclusions, we can mention: the information center is very complete for bird watching since it holds the necessary infrastructure and equipment for an in situ observation of a town considered worthy of a Community Importance and regarded as a special protection area for birds (ZEPA) of the European Union
