Abstract
Стаття присвячена дослідженню специфіки індивідуально-авторської інтерпретації уявного шляхом реконструкції структури та змісту образно-асоціативної площини концептуального простору уявне у творах Дж.Р.Р.Толкіна.
(The article is devoted to the revealing of the author’s individual perception and interpretation of the imaginary by means of the reconstruction of the content and structural peculiarities of the figuratively associative (or image bearing) plane of the conceptual space of the imaginary as the highest level of abstraction of the imaginary in J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary works.
The reconstruction is done by means of the complex analysis presupposing the investigation of linguistic and cognitive
properties of J.R.R. Tolkien’s literary works as poetic-cognitive form of realization of the imaginary.
The structure of the figuratively associative plane is being reconstructed of the corresponding layers of six literary
concepts of the imaginary, namely magic, mysticism, imaginary creature, imaginary space, imaginary time and imaginary thing as mental formations reflecting J.R.R. Tolkien’s perception and interpretation of various aspects of the imaginary. It has been proved that the figuratively associative plane of the conceptual space of the imaginary is a model represented by а set of conceptual metaphors.
It has been investigated that according to J.R.R. Tolkien’s individual implicated senses the imaginary is associated with dangerous confrontation between Good and Evil and with the change of values. The contradiction between such associations as ‘hope’ and ‘despair’, ‘danger’ and ‘safety’ characterizes J.R.R. Tolkien’s quest rather neatly.
