Proposal for reneval of energy inefficient apartment of building

Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the apartment building, built in 1957 in Ljubljana, from the point of\ud view of its energy efficiency. The facility is non-energy efficient since the external layer of the house\ud is without a thermal insulation, while only the roof, renovated in 2009, has minimum insulation. Since\ud the costs for heating are high, the possible measures to improve energy efficiency are calculated and\ud presented. By using the TEDI and TOST software, the calculation analysis of the existing state was\ud conducted and it was proven that the facility concerned is not suitable while taking into account the\ud currently applicable regulatory requirements. Different measures are proposed, such as: replacing\ud windows, thermal insulation of the external walls, thermal insulation of the floor against the unheated\ud cellar, thermal insulation of the roof and removal of the existing balconies and placement of the\ud prefabricated balconies which would presumably improve the comfort and the energy balance. Then\ud two different versions of measures, which represent a combination of the foregoing measures, were\ud conducted to fulfil the requirements as per PURES 2010 (Rules on efficient use of energy in\ud buildings). The diploma thesis was carried out with the purpose to prove no need for mechanical\ud ventilation
