The International Reading Association Announces .... The Board of Directors of the Association decided on the creation of an International Development Fund to which contributions will be accepted from members, national and inter-national organizations as well as all individuals interested in the growth of the reading profession at the inter-national level. The purpose of the fund will be to provide resources to enhance international cooperation, communication and organizational development, through worthy projects not otherwise provided for in the Association's budget. Some of the projected uses of the fund are publishing selected number Association members will receive further information early in '77. Nonmembers may receive information by writing IRA at 800 Barksdale Road, Newark, Delaware 19711, U.S.A. Reading to Be Free of papers on cross cultural or cross language significance from Singapore World Congress, translation of selected research articles in to different lan-guages for the optimal use of affiliate members, provision of financial sup• port for the formation of new councils and many other activities that are significant to the international growth of the Association.
